26th Singapore International Film Festival Media Conference
ArtScience Museum, Marina Bay Sands
20 Oct 2015 (Tue) 11am – 12.30pm

Pure Talents is proud to be a Gala Events Partner of the 26th Singapore International Film Festival (SGIFF). We will be helping to host a few important events for SGIFF this year, including the opening film and special presentations, red carpet events, post-film discussions as well as masterclass sessions.

The first media conference to announce details of this year’s SGIFF was held at ArtScience Museum, Marina Bay Sands. Emcee Danny Yeo was tasked to interview Executive Director Yuni Hadi and Festival Director Zhang Wenjie, as well as facilitating a 45-minute panel discussion with filmmakers Eric Khoo, Ang Geck Geck and Sanif Olek.

SGIFF 2015 is more than just films. It has a host of other programmes to create a vibrant and immersive festival experience for all festival-goers. Its main aim is to celebrate independent cinema, nurture film talent, and tell the Asian story through film. Some programmes include: Chinese documentaries, Mexican Cinema, Classics, Special Presentations, Silver Screen Awards, Southeast Asian Film Lab, Asian Feature Film Competition, Singapore Panorama and Singapore Shorts.

SGIFF is the longest-running international film platform in Southeast Asia for the discovery of independent cinema and it is committed towards inspiring the discovery of independent cinema locally and in the region. It brings together a rich mix of both established filmmakers and emerging talents, to showcase the region’s story.

More than just film screenings, SGIFF nurtures and champions film talent and cinema of the region through its various masterclasses, industry discussions, the Southeast Asian Film Lab and Youth Jury Programme. SGIFF hopes that participants of an immersive festival will eventually contribute towards growing a bigger, more vibrant film scene in Singapore and the region. SGIFF aims to facilitate and expand the conversations on filmmaking, encourage in-depth exchanges, and present filmgoers with a vibrant and immersive festival experience.

SGIFF is proud to be an event of the 2nd Singapore Media Festival, hosted by Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA), with generous support from Presenting Sponsor Marina Bay Sands and Official Festival Time Partner IWC Schaffhausen.
