Singapore International Film Festival Press Conference for The Crossing 太平轮:乱世浮生
ArtScience Museum, Marina Bay Sands
4 Dec 2014 (Thu)

The 25th Singapore International Film Festival (SGIFF) held its Press Conference for a Special Presentation Film “The Crossing” at Marina Bay Sands’ ArtScience Museum, on the very day of its official festival opening. In attendance were President and Chief Executive Director of Marina Bay Sands (MBS) Mr George Tanasjievich, SGIFF’s Executive Director Ms Yuni Hadi, as well as the director and cast members of the movie The Crossing.

Through the years, Singapore International Film Festival has gained global recognition for showcasing international films as well as the best of Singaporean cinema. This is the longest-running film event in Singapore. SGIFF aims to promote local talents, inspire filmgoers, and discover the next generation of filmmakers.

The film The Crossing was presented under SGIFF’s Special Presentation section, a gala showcase of the most anticipated new films by today’s leading filmmakers. The Crossing is an epic set in war times, the 1949 Chinese Civil War. It follows the fortunes and love stories of three couples.
All 6 main characters have different backgrounds inextricably linked by fate. And then, they became passengers aboard the ill-fated Taiping.

Marina Bay Sands is proud to present The Crossing at the 25th SGIFF, and invited director John Woo along with his stars – Zhang Ziyi, Tong Dawei and Angeles Woo – to Singapore for the press conference, red carpet event and film opening.
