SGIFF 2017 also boasts an exciting showcase of 18 world premieres, 17 international premieres and 6 Asian premieres this year, bringing to life vivid stories of Asia, Southeast Asia, and the world. SGIFF 2017 promises to be an immersive journey of unconventional storytelling and striking cinematography – all to the theme of “The Future Is.”

Chairperson of SGIFF Mr Mike Wiluan, Executive Director Ms Wahyuni Hadi and Programme Director Ms Pimpaka Towira all gave short speeches to welcome the guests.

The Opening Film Angels Wear White is Vivian Qu’s femme-centric thriller about oppression and corruption. In the wake of a crime, three girls find themselves entangled within a web of deceit and shadowy actions manoeuvred by a male-dominated bureaucracy. Attending the premiere were director Vivian Qu, producer Sean Chen, and actor Zhou Meijun.
