Singapore Design Week and SingaPlural Opening Ceremony

Danny Yeo was selected to host for the opening ceremony of Singapore Design Week 2018 and launch of SingaPlural 2018 at National Design Centre. The 5th edition of the annual Singapore Design Week (SDW) is organised by the DesignSingapore Council (DSC). This year, it ran from 5th March till 18th March, offering an exciting collection of local and international design activities in Singapore.

Danny Yeo was specially selected to host the opening ceremony for Singapore Design Week (SDW) and SingaPlural 2018 as a trusted emcee for important events, as well as for his knowledge and association with the design community.

Organised by DesignSingapore Council, the 5th edition of the annual SDW was held at National Design Centre with Minister for Communications and Information Dr Yaacob Ibrahim as the Guest of Honour. Other distinguished guests include Dr Beh Swan Gin, Chairman of the Economic Development Board, Mr Gabriel Lim, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Comms & Information, Ms Tan Li San, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Comms & Information, Ms Agnes Kwek, Executive Director of DesignSingapore Council, Mr Mark Wee, Executive Director Designate of DesignSingapore Council, Mr Mark Yong, President of S’pore Furniture Industries Council and Chairman of SingaPlural. as well as Ms Emily Ong, Deputy Executive Director of DesignSingapore Council.

SDW 2018 ran for 2 weeks – 5-18 of March with the theme A March of Design. SingaPlural, organised by the Singapore Furniture Industries Council since 2012,  is the anchor event of SDW. This year’s theme was A State In Play, a celebration of the stage of work, before design even begins. The event was supported by DesignSingapore Council, International Enterprise (IE) Singapore, Singapore Tourism Board, and SPRING Singapore.

The client complimented Danny for his quick wit, fast response and great ability to adjust to circumstances as there were Plan A, Plan B, Plan C1 nd Plan C2 for the event. It was most satisfying that we overcame challenges and made the event a successful one!
