GOH: Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong
Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre Auditorium
19 May 2017 (Fri), 7pm – 9.30pm

Pure Talents veteran bilingual emcee Danny Yeo hosted this significant event for Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre (SCCC), a noteworthy milestone in Singapore history and for the Chinese community.

Attending the official opening ceremony was Patron and Guest of Honour Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. Other distinguished guests who graced the event included Deputy Prime Minister, Parliamentary Speaker, Ministers, Ambassadors, Senior Minister of State, Minister of State, Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Parliamentary Secretary, Members of Parliament, Foreign Dignitaries and important figures in society.

SCCC had its groundbreaking in 2014 and was completed in December 2016. The building was designed by DP Architects and has 11 storeys, a beautiful rooftop garden, a multi-purpose hall, a gallery, a recital studio and an auditorium. The cost of construction was over $110 million. The three-tier division, symmetrical architecture is an ingenious contemporary expression of traditional Chinese style, incorporating the concept of sustainable development through the application of special construction materials.

Danny Yeo is deeply honoured to have been selected as the emcee to host all the celebratory events in association with SCCC’s opening, including the Official Opening Ceremony, Singapore Chinese Cultural Contribution Awards Presentation Ceremony, launch of Cultural Extravaganza, as well as the Dinner Celebration.
