Official Opening Ceremony of BookFest@Singapore 2016

Pure Talents veteran emcee Danny Yeo returns as the appointed host for the official opening ceremony of BookFest@Singapore, an annual book festival that shows the heart and reason for POPULAR’s business. Attending the event: Minister for Communications and Information Dr Yaacob Ibrahim, Group CEO and Executive Director of POPULAR Holdings Limited Mr Chou Cheng Ngo, and CEO of POPULAR Holdings Limited Ms Lim Lee Noh.
POPULAR’s passion is to promote a reading and learning culture. At the same time, it supports local authors, bridges the connection between authors and readers, and cultivates the mastery of languages. Over the last 10 years, BookFest has been an important platform for making quality reading available to the public. This year, BookFest arrives at its 10th Anniversary – an important milestone. Some key events include: Readers’ Choice Awards, which fosters a vibrant literary scene in S’pore; and National Creative Chinese Reading Competition, which promotes the mastery of the Chinese language.
At the event, BookFest@Singapore earned the title of “Largest Book and Stationery Exposition” as conferred by the Singapore Book of Records. POPULAR’s quarterly membership magazine POPCLUB also received the title of “Highest Audited Print Circulation Magazine”.
