Music luminaries joined hands with young talents to create songs for Singapore’s 50th birthday! Pure Talents’ veteran emcee Danny Yeo was eager and glad to lend a hand to this meaningful project led by Ruth Ling, a friend and partner of Pure Talents.

As the nation celebrates its Golden Jubilee this year, more than 30 members of the music industry are gearing up to celebrate it in style, by creating an original music album for Singapore. The album, aptly named “Sing, Love” will comprise five original compositions and accompanying music videos that seek to pay tribute to the nation. The songs, written in a mixture of four different languages, will reach out to both Singaporeans and friends of Singapore from around the world. Produced by Red Roof Records and spearheaded by Ruth Ling (Executive Producer), the five songs – Come Back to You; Simply, Love; Kite; Love Sings; Starlight – illustrate the artistes‟ unique interpretation of Singapore and what family and home meant to them. Presented by Main Sponsor IMC Live Group and supported by SG50, all songs from “Sing, Love” will be available for free download at www.imclive-group.com in 2015.

The project was announced by the album‟s production company, Red Roof Records, at a media conference at UNPLUGGED at Dempsey Road. Executive Producer Ruth Ling and six participating artistes – Jimmy Ye, Brian Nothing Tan, Sezairi, Joanna Dong, Rani Singam and THELIONCITYBOY – were present at the conference to share more on their involvement in this music album. The music album will be centred on the theme Our family Our Home. Each soulful number – Come Back to You, Simply Love, Kite, Love Sings and Starlight – illustrates the artistes’ unique interpretation of Singapore and what family and home means to them. Inspirations for the songs include how Singapore can be personified as a long-time “family member” or “friend” that people feel familiar with; how it is a point of origin and a secure base that people return to feeling a sense of peace and belonging; as well as celebrating the life of everyday Singaporeans and all things uniquely Singaporean. The five distinct stories depicted in the songs seek to strike a chord with different groups of people – be it the local kid, the overseas Singaporean, or the pioneer generation.

Experienced veterans join hands with up-and-coming talents in refreshing collaborations. A strong line-up of artistes, musicians, producers and talents from different genres and generations came together to support this meaningful project. Lending strength to the project are music powerhouses such as Jimmy Ye, Liang Wern Fook, Stefanie Sun, Sezairi, Jeremy Monteiro, Chen Jiaming, Rani Singam and Corrinne May. The album will also feature rising young talents including The Sam Willows, ShiGGA Shay, Joanna Dong, Nathan Hartono, THELIONCITYBOY and Charlie Lim. In a unique twist to the project, every track will see a refreshing collaboration between least one veteran artiste and a younger musician, some of whom come from different musical backgrounds. Singaporeans can look forward to a medley of songs that promises to captivate and enthral, as the artistes leverage on one another’s experiences and ideas to create their heartfelt song for Singapore.

The songs will be released in phases in June, leading up to the official launch of the album at the Sing Love Concert in July.
