Press Conference and Gala Premiere of APPRENTICE the Film

Clover Films and Golden Village Pictures jointly organised a press conference for the theatrical release of Singaporean director Boo Junfeng’s second full-length feature film, Apprentice.

Apprentice was selected for the 69th Cannes Film Festival’s Official Selection under Un Certain Regard. It received a standing ovation during its world premiere in Cannes.

Attending the press conference with director Boo Junfeng were Singaporean actors Fir Rahman and Mastura Ahmad, as well as Wan Hanafi from Malaysia.

Pure Talents is proud to be a supporter of Apprentice, with veteran emcee Danny Yeo hosting the press conference as well as the gala premiere held at Capitol Theatre which saw a great turnout of who’s who in the local film, arts and creative industries. Apprentice received overwhelming response from the first group of public audience who gave the director and cast a standing ovation at the end of the film.

Danny Yeo also facilitated a Blog Aloud session on 21 June 2016 at Golden Village Plaza Singapura. It was a full-house attendance with more than 200 audience members at the special screening. Director Boo Junfeng had a fruitful exchange with the audience after the film, answering some of the most in-depth and interesting questions he has faced thus far.

Apprentice is produced by Singapore companies Akanga Film Asia, Peanut Pictures and Zhao Wei Films. It is co-produced with Germany’s Augenschein Filmproduktion and France’s Cinema Defacto. It is produced in association with: Hong Kong’s Making Film Productions, Sun Culture Entertainment and Singapore’s Infinite Frameworks. Apprentice is co-distributed in Singapore by Clover Films and Golden Village Pictures.
